Heat distribution on a Direct Fired Heater
A CFD analysis has been performed on an existing fired heater which was required to reach a capacity beyond the original heater design duty. The study aimed to evaluate heat duty and heater performance differences in case of BCD modification.
To this purpose, the performances of existing burner configuration and a modified burner arrangement were evaluated. The analysis has been performed in steady state, turbulent, reactive and radiative; buoyancy effect has been considered.
